Description
Peg 3350 is indicated for treatment of occasional constipation. A single dose is 17g, taken once a day for up to one week or as directed by your physician. Frequent or excessive use of Peg 3350 for long periods of time (i.e. more than one week) may cause diarrhea and dehydration.
Directions: Adults over 18 years:
Peg3350 is supplied with a dosing cup marked to a single dosage of 17g. This cup can be found right underneath the lid of the bottle.Â
Measure 17g (1 heaping tablespoon) of Peg 3350 powder into the measuring cup.
Dissolve the powder in 1 cup (250mL or 8 ounces) of water, juice, soda, coffee or tea.
Drink the prepared solution once a day for 7 days.
First bowel movement will usually happen 2 to 4 days after the first treatment.
Do not use in children under 18 years unless advised by your doctor.
Do not take within 2 hours of another medication, as the other drug may not be as effective.
Store Peg 3350 product at room temperature (15°C – 30°C). Keep out of reach of children.Â
Warnings: Before you use Peg 3350 talk to your doctor or pharmacist if: you have or have ever had a bowel obstruction (blockage in the intestine) and if you have fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or abdominal distension to ensure these symptoms are not due to a bowel obstruction, appendicitis or inflamed bowel; you have any kidney problems; you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy; you are breast feeding.
Consult a physician immediately if your condition persists or worsens.
Do not use Peg 3350 if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol, Peg 3350 should be taken only as advised by a doctor.
Overuse or extended use may cause dependence for bowel function. Do not take for more than 1 week. Frequent or excessive use of Peg 3350 for long periods of time, i.e. more than 1 week, may cause diarrhea and dehydration especially if you are elderly.
