How Nurofen For Children Strawberry Liquid works
Nurofen For Children Strawberry Liquid contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by relieving pain and helping to ease the symptoms of colds and flu.
Ibuprofen also reduces fever.Â

Directions
Always take Nurofen For Children Strawberry Liquid exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.Â
Children between 3-6 months old: 1 x 2.5ml should be given up to 3 times a day. If your child is in this age range, they must only be given the product for 24 hours.
Children between 6-12 months old: 1 x 2.5ml should be given up to 4 times a day.
Children between 1-3 years old: 1 x 5ml should be given up to 3 times a day.Â
Children between 4-6 years old: 1 x 7.5ml should be given up to 3 times a day.
Children between 7-9 years old: 1 x 10ml should be given up to 3 times a day.
Do not give more than the recommended daily amount.

Side effects
Like all medicines, Nurofen For Children Strawberry Liquid may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects may include:Â

Stomach irritationÂ

Heartburn

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.Â

Warnings
Nurofen For Children Strawberry Liquid may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not give this medicine to your child if they are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:

They have a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
They have severe kidney, liver or heart failure
They have problems coping with fructose/fruit sugar
Â
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before giving your child this medicine if:Â

They have high blood pressure or heart problems
They have had a strokeÂ
They have diabetes
They have high cholesterolÂ
They have asthma or any other allergic lung disease
They have liver, kidney or bowel problemsÂ
They are dehydrated
They have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
They have a chronic inflammatory bowel diseaseÂ
They have an infection
They have chicken poxÂ

Using/taking other medicines
If your child is taking or has recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before giving them this product.
You must tell your healthcare provider if your child is taking the following medicine:

Other medicines containing ibuprofen or NSAIDs
Low dose aspirinÂ
DiureticsÂ
Anticoagulants e.g. warfarin
Lithium for mood disorders
Methotrexate for psoriasis, arthritis and types of cancer
Zidovudine for HIV
Corticosteroids
Cardiac glycosides for heart problemsÂ
Ciclosporin or tacrolimus to prevent organ rejection after a transplantÂ
Quinolone antibioticsÂ
Antiplatelet drugs e.g. dipyridamole or clopidogrelÂ

Age restrictionsÂ
This product is not suitable for babies under 3 months old.

Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
