Used in traditional herbal medicine as a carminative for the relief of digestive complaints such as flatulence or abdominal distention.
Cloves are the rich, brown, dried, unopened flower buds of Syzygium aromaticum, an evergreen tree in the myrtle family. The name comes from the French “clou” meaning nail. They have been used in China for more than 2000 years for various health conditions, but their main use today is to relieve bloating and flatulence. As few recipes call for them, supplementation is an easy way to reap their full benefits.
DIRECTIONS OF USE
Take 1 capsule daily or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Consult a health-care practitioner for prolonged use.
INGREDIENTS
Each vegetable capsule contains:
Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) flower bud
500 mg
Other ingredients: Vegetable magnesium stearate in a non-GMO vegetable capsule composed of pullulan and purified water.
WARNINGS
Contains no: Gluten, soy, wheat, corn, eggs, dairy, yeast, citrus, preservatives, artificial flavour or colour, starch, or sugar.
Cautions and warnings: Do not use if you have been diagnosed with a liver disorder or if liver function is impaired; if you are taking acetaminophen or anticoagulants; if you have a fever and/or suffer from a febrile disorder. Consult a health-care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding; or if you have diabetes. Consult a health-care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen.
