Directions: Put powder into empty glass and mix with 240mL of water or other cool liquid. Stir briskly and drink promptly. Do not interrupt medication.

For Adults Only: 2 rounded tablespoons (24g) or 8 level teaspoons (24g) in 240mL liquid with meals, up to 3 times daily, for occasional use only.
For cholesterol lowering and heart health.
For Adults Only: One rounded tablespoon (12g) or 4 level teaspoons (12g) in 240mL liquid 3 times daily. For best results in lowering cholesterol, take metamucil with a meal.
For fibre supplementation or relief of irregularity.
Start by taking 1 serving each day. As your body adjusts to increased fibre intake, gradually increase to 3 servings per day. Generally takes effect in 12-72 hours.
Adults and Children Over 12:Â One rounded tablespoon (12g) or 4 level teaspoons (12g) in 240mL liquid up to 3 times daily.
Children (6-12 Years): 1/2 the adult serving (6g) in 240mL liquid up to 3 times daily.
Children under 6 years: Do not use.
Medicinal Ingredient(per 12g): Psyllium husk (Plantago ovata) 3.4g
Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Sucrose, citric acid, orange flavour, yellow 6
Caution: Keep this and all medication out of reach of children.
Do not use if you have:
- abdominal pain, fever, nausea or vomiting
- A sudden change in bowel habits persisting for 2 weeks
- undiagnosed rectal bleeding
- failure to defaecate following the use of another laxative
If constipation persists for more than seven days, symptoms worsen, or rectal bleeding occurs, stop use and consult your doctor. These may be signs of a serious condition. Metamucil may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium; in which case, discontinue use. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating. Do not take this product within 2 hours of taking any other medicine. Do not use if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g. opioids, loperamide). Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking. Do not take if you have difficulty in swallowing. If you have chest pain, vomiting or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking the product, seek immediate medical attention.
Store at room temperature tightly closed to protect from humidity. Filled by weight, not volume. May settle.
