What are AgaMatrix Test Strips?
AgaMatrix Test Strips are designed to be used with your AgaMatrix WavesSense Jazz blood glucose monitor, helping you to monitor your diabetes whenever you need to. The simple testing system helps you to monitor your blood glucose levels fast, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. This product contains 50 test strips, in 2 boxes of 25 strips.

What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a lifelong condition that many people suffer with. 90% of adults who suffer from diabetes have Type 2 diabetes, which means that your body does not produce enough insulin. Insulin is the substance your body uses to manage the glucose levels in your blood, so not having enough insulin can mean that your blood glucose level becomes too high. This can cause long-term medical complications if not properly monitored.

How do blood glucose meters work?
Blood glucose meters, such as the AgaMatrix WaveSense Jazz meter, help you to monitor your blood glucose levels by providing a quick and easy blood test. When you put a drop of blood onto the AgaMatrix Test Strip that is inserted into the meter, the meter uses an electrical current to see how much glucose in your blood has reacted with the testing strip. This is how these meters work out your blood glucose levels.

Can these strips be used with non-AgaMatrix glucose meters?
It is recommended that you only use these test strips with compatible AgaMatrix meters and for any other brand, use the compatible strips for that particular meter.

How to use AgaMatrix Test Strips with your blood glucose meter.
Before testing your blood glucose levels, make sure to wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Insert one AgaMatrix Test Strip into your blood glucose meter, making sure the contact bars are facing up. The word ‘fill’ will appear on the meter screen. Use your lancing decide to draw a drop of blood from your fingertip and apply this drop to the tip of the AgaMatrix Test Strip. The visual window of the test strip will turn red to show that you have applied enough blood. When you hear a beep, remove the tip of the test strip from the blood sample and wait for the meter to calculate your results.

When should AgaMatrix Test Strips not be used?
AgaMatrix Test Strips should not be used to diagnose diabetes. Do not use these test strips with other brands of blood glucose meters, this may produce inaccurate results. AgaMatrix Test Strips are not suitable for use on children under 4 weeks old. Do not use this product to test arterial or venous blood, and do not test glucose from sites other than the fingertip, palm (at the base of the thumb), or forearm.
