Echinaforce tablets contain a natural ingredient called echinacea, which is a plant from the daisy family. Echinacea is traditionally used as a herbal remedy for symptoms of cold and flu. It is believed to work by supporting your immune system as it fights off your cold and flu symptoms.
What symptoms will I experience if I have a cold or the flu?
A cold and the flu have very similar symptoms, which is why they’re so often confused. The flu is typically worse than a cold, but some of the most common you’ll experience with both illnesses include:
Headaches
A blocked or runny nose
Sneezing
Coughs
Sore throat
Pressure in your ears and face
A high temperature or fever
Aching muscles
Can I take these echinacea tablets if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Echinaforce echinacea tablets are not suitable for use during pregnancy or when you’re breastfeeding. If you have a cold or the flu at this time, ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend a more suitable treatment for you.
Can I take these tablets if I’m taking other medication?
If you’re taking any other medication, including herbal remedies or medicines obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Echinaforce tablets. Do not take these tablets if you are already taking:
Immunosuppressant medications, e.g. ciclosporin, methotrexate
Treatment to reduce the response of your immune system, e.g. chemotherapy, radiotherapy
How to take these tablets
Take 2 Echinaforce tablets 2 – 3 times a day. Swallow tablets whole with a sip of water. For best results, start taking at the first signs of a cold. Do not take for more than 10 days at a time.
When should this product not be used?
Echinaforce tablets are not suitable for use in children under the age of 12. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to echinacea, other plants in the daisy family, or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not take this product if you have:
An intolerance to lactose
A tendency to allergies such as hives, eczema, or asthma
Tuberculosis (TB)
A connective tissue disease disorder called Sarcoidosis
An autoimmune disease, e.g. collagenoses or multiple sclerosis
HIV, AIDS, or any other condition which affects your immune system
A disorder which affects your white blood cells, e.g. agranulocytosis, leukaemia
Had an organ or bone marrow transplant
Do Echinaforce tablets have any side effects?
Like all medications, Echinaforce tablets can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects you may be experiencing a serious allergic reaction and should seek medical assistance immediately:
Skin rash
Red, itchy skin, or hives
Swelling of the skin or face
Blisters on the skin or mucous membranes, e.g. inside of nose and mouth
Difficulty breathing
Asthma or anaphylactic shock
Other side effects you may experience include:
Inflammation of the brain and spinal cord
Painful lumps on the shins
Low blood platelet count
Evans syndrome, which causes the destruction of blood cells by antibodies
Sjogren syndrome, causing dryness in the mouth and eyes with renal tubular disfunction

How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place which is below 25 degrees C. Do not use this product if the expiry date printed on the original packaging has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
