Description

What are Valupak Folic Acid tablets?
Valupak Folic Acid tablets are a daily folic acid supplement which helps to support you through the first weeks of your pregnancy. They provide all of the folic acid you need every day, helping you to be sure that you’re doing everything you can to support your growing baby.

Why would I need to take Folic Acid?
Folic Acid is a B vitamin which helps to support your body as it makes red blood cells. The NHS suggests that women who are trying to become pregnant or are in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy take daily folic acid supplements. Folic acid is very important for a developing foetus and can help to reduce the chances of neural tube defects (NTDs), such as spina bifida.

Can I take these tablets during pregnancy?
These folic acid tablets are perfect for women who are in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy or are trying to conceive. However, once you passed 12 weeks of pregnancy or if you are breast feeding, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before taking this product, to be sure that this is safe for both you and your baby.

How much folic acid is in these tablets?
Each Valupak Folic Acid tablet contains 400mcg of folic acid. This means that every tablet contains the exact amount of Folic Acid that the NHS recommends for women who are trying to conceive or are in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Can I take these tablets at the same time as other medication?
If you are taking any other medication, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before taking this product. Some medications can interact when used together, causing unwanted effects or making them less effective, but your doctor or pharmacist can help to prevent this.

How to take these tablets
Take one Valupak Folic Acid tablet every day. For best results, take with food or a sip of water or another cool drink. Do not take more than the recommended daily dose of this product.

When should Valupak Folic Acid tablets not be used?
Valupak Folic Acid tablets should not be used by children unless specifically advised by your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients.

How to store these tablets
Store in a cool, dry place. Do not use after expiry date printed on packaging has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
