Diastix are urine testing sticks which help to detect the levels of glucose in your urine quickly and easily. They’re ideal for those who have diabetes and need an easy way to test for blood glucose without having to draw blood.

What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a lifelong condition which happens when your body either doesn’t create enough insulin, or the insulin it does create doesn’t work as effectively as it could in the body. Insulin helps to control the levels of glucose in your body, so when you have diabetes your blood sugar levels can become too high, which can lead to complications if left untreated.

Diastix testing sticks help you to see how much glucose is in your urine at any one time. When you have created a plan to manage your diabetes with your doctor, testing your glucose levels yourself can help you to put that plan into action on a daily basis. They’re perfect for those who don’t like to draw blood when they test for glucose, and each test can be done quickly and easily.

How to use Diastix
Diastix are dip-and-read urine test sticks. When it’s time to take the test, hold the reagent end of the test strip in your urine, making sure not to touch the testing area with your fingers or other objects before testing. When the test has changed colour, compare it to the colour samples on the side of the bottle to see what your test results mean.

What do my test results mean?
When you’ve completed your test, compare the colour of the reagent area to the colours on the side of the Diastix bottle. The colours range from light blue to green to dark brown, and the closer towards brown your test becomes, the more glucose there is in your urine.

How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Store in original packaging and do not use if expiry date printed on packaging has passed. Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
